Festa Garners All-Region Women's Soccer Honors

BABSON PARK, Mass. - In addition to earning New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team Honors, Babson first-year Amy Festa (Medfield, Mass.) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-New England First Team as well as the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England Division III First Team.
Starting all 20 of Babson's games this fall, Festa led the Beavers with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. She ranked fourth in the NEWMAC in both goals and points, and her 14 points in conference play tied for the league lead. Festa was also one of three players on Babson to register two game-winning goals this year.
Festa is Babson's first rookie to earn All-Conference honors since Meg Lynch '08 in 2004, and she is the only Beaver freshman to garner First Team honors since the league began recognizing two teams in 2002. Overall, she is just the fourth first-year in Babson women's soccer history to be named All-Conference, joining Lynch in 2004, Toni Pantuosco '05 in 2001, and Babson Hall of Famer Julie Tienken '94 in 1990.
Festa is also only the second rookie in program history to earn NSCAA All-Region honors since Pantuosco did it in her freshman campaign in 2001.
With Festa leading the way, Babson went 11-8-1 this fall, matching the program's highest win total since the Beavers finished 13-5-2 back in 2001.
