BABSON PARK, Mass.—After earning first-team All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) accolades earlier this fall, senior Carley Martyniak (Foxborough, Mass.) and junior Jessica DiPhilippo (Falmouth, Maine) were both selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association Of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III Women's All-New England fourth team on Tuesday.
Martyniak and DiPhilippo helped lead the Beavers to a 10-4-5 record, and a trip to the conference tournament semifinals for the third time in four years this fall.
Martyniak earned the first All-Region selection of her career after anchoring one of New England's top defensive units this fall. The senior back started all 19 matches and was pivotal in helping the Beavers post 10 shutouts while holding 15 of their 19 opponents to one goal or less on the year. For her career, she started 63 of 66 matches and finished with four assists.
DiPhilippo, a three-time All-NEWMAC honoree, was named to the All-Region team for the first time following a terrific junior season. Despite missing two matches due to injury, she finished tied for sixth in the league scoring with career-highs of seven goals and 20 points. She notched a pair of game-winning goals while assisting on two others. Through three years she is currently tied for seventh on the program's all-time list with 16 assists and is tied for 15th in program history with 44 points.
