Fernandes Named NEWMAC Women's Soccer Offensive Co-Player of the Week

WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Jessica Fernandes (Pawtucket, R.I.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Co-Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Fernandes netted a pair of game-winning goals and scored three times in all for six points as the Beavers won their final two regular season games to clinch a spot in this week's NEWMAC Tournament. She scored less than a minute from halftime in Tuesday's 2-0 victory at halftime and then struck for a pair of goals just over 10 minutes apart midway through the second half to help the Green and White rally for a 3-1 triumph over Mount Holyoke on Friday.

Fernandes, who has matched her career highs in all three scoring categories with nine goals and three assists for 21 points, has scored 28 career markers and is tied with assistant coach Jessica DiPhilippo '15 for eighth in school history with 68 points.

Babson (7-9-2, 4-6-0 NEWMAC), which is seeded sixth, will travel to third-seeded Emerson for a conference tournament quarterfinal match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
