Tango Collects NEWMAC Softball Academic All-Conference Recognition

WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Ashley Tango (Reading, Mass.) was honored for her work in the classroom for the third consecutive season when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team was announced on Wednesday.

Tango has started all 38 games batting a career-best .371 with 12 extra-base hits, 21 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 31 runs batted. She has recorded 14 multi-hit games and has made just one error at third base over the last 30 contests.

Entering the weekend, Tango is tied for fourth in program history in hits (177), ranks fifth in RBI (97) and total bases (247).

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Babson (24-14) split its first two games of the NEWMAC Tournament and will face Springfield in an elimination game on Friday at 12 p.m. in Worcester.
