Women's Tennis Falls Just Short at Connecticut College
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Babson women's tennis team fell victim to a pair of injury walkovers as the Beavers lost to host Connecticut College, 5-4, in a non-conference match on Tuesday.
The Beavers (9-10) led 2-1 after doubles play, thanks to an 8-1 win from Alex Freeman and Alexis Ferraro at number one and an 8-2 triumph from Minte Tamoshunas and Victoria Lorido at number two. Babson then received singles wins from Freeman at one, 6-1, 7-6 (2), and junior Inna Loseva at six, 6-1, 6-1, but injuries forced Ferraro to retire at two and Courtney Fischer to retire at five as the Camels came from behind to claim the 5-4 victory.
Babson will look to get back to the .500 mark in its final match of the year on Friday, April 12, as the Beavers head south to take on Salve Regina at 3 p.m.
