BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College women's tennis team wrapped up the 2015-16 campaign with a 9-0 loss to second-ranked Williams College on Saturday at Farwell Courts.
With the setback, Babson finishes the year at 14-8, while Williams, the defending Division III national champions is now 15-3 overall.
Sophomores Yagmur Akgul (Istanbul, Turkey) and Jenny Quenard (St.-Legier, Switzerland) suffered an 8-4 defeat at number one doubles, while senior Tori Paolino (East Orleans, Mass.) and Chloe Brandt (Denver, Colo.) dropped an 8-3 decision at number two. Sophomores Claire Foster (Orange, Conn.) and Kylie Kam (Honolulu, Hawaii) also lost 8-3 at number three.
Akgul had the best opportunity for the Beavers to pick up a point in singles as she forced a first-set tiebreaker before falling 7-6 (7-5), 7-5) at number one. Quenard lost 6-2, 6-4 at number two, while Kam suffered a 6-4, 6-4 setback at number three.
• Paolino, the lone senior on the Babson roster, concluded her career on Saturday. She won 101 combined singles and doubles matches while helping the program win its first NEWMAC title and earn its first NCAA Tournament berth last season.
