Blizard Named to NEWMAC Women's Tennis Academic All-Conference Squad

BOSTON—Babson College sophomore Alexandra Blizard (Dover, Mass.) was honored for her work in the classroom on Tuesday as she was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's tennis Academic All-Conference team.

Blizzard has appeared in five matches this fall going 1-1 in doubles and 1-2 in singles. She picked up her first career doubles victory with an 8-3 result at number three against Emerson on September 27 and was a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) winner in a quarterfinal match of the NEWITT C draw last Saturday.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2016 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Babson (9-2) is seeded third in this week's NEWMAC Tournament and will take on sixth-seeded Springfield in a quarterfinal match on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
