Women's Tennis Downed by Colorado College, 6-3

ORLANDO, Fla.—The Babson College women's tennis team opened its spring break trip with a 6-3 loss to Colorado College at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus on Sunday morning.

With the loss, Babson drops to 2-1 on the year, while Colorado College improves to 6-8.

Senior Jenny Quenard (St.-Legier, Switzerland) and first-year Marissa Madison (Columbus, Ohio) picked up the Beavers' lone point in doubles with an 8-2 win at number two. First-years Alexa Tutecky (North York, Ontario) and Carolina Merz (Santa Tecla, El Salvador) dropped an 8-5 decision at number one, while seniors Claire Foster (Orange, Conn.) and Kylie Kam (Honolulu, Hawaii) suffered an 8-4 loss at number three.

Tutecky was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at number one singles and Merz picked up a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 victory at number two. Foster and Kam both dropped 7-5, 6-2 decisions at third and fourth singles, while sophomore Emily Roeper (Belle Mead, N.J.) was defeated 6-3, 7-5 at number five.

Junior Alexandra Blizard (Dover, Mass.) was beaten 6-0, 6-1 at number six singles.

Babson returns to action on Monday when it takes on Hamilton at 7:30 p.m.
