Despite graduating two of the team's top three players from last year's team, the Babson College women's tennis program expects continued success this fall. The Beavers will once again be coached by Jim Berrigan, who enters his 12th season with the most wins (117) of any coach in program history. Anchoring this year's team will be tri-captains Rebecca Stone (Dover, Mass.), Monica Mercer (Woodinville, Wash.), and Caroline Hobert (Longmeadow, Mass.). The lone junior of the three, Stone posted a team-best record of 13-7 in singles play last year, including a 10-5 mark at number two. Mercer, a senior, went 7-5 in singles competition and earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team honors at number three doubles a year ago, while classmate Hobert has played primarily in doubles competition in her career, recording five victories.
