CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Three members of the Babson College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the MIT Last Chance Meet on Thursday night.
Senior John Decker (Parkland, Fla.), who ranks 10th in Division III in the 800-meter run, dropped down from his usually distance and placed sixth in the 400-meter run in a season-best 50.62, while junior Matthew Dynan (Reading, Mass.) placed 12th in the 1500-meter run.
On the women's side, junior Angelina Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) ran 12.52 to advance to the finals of the 100-meter dash, then ran 12.62 to finish ninth overall in the event.
Decker will qualify for the nationals, for the second year in a row, when the selections are announced on Saturday morning as he ranks 10th nationally in the 800 meters. Raffone will have to wait and see if her season-best 12.20 performance in the 100-meter dash will be enough to punch her ticket.
The NCAA National Championships will run from May 24-26 at Roger Herring Stadium in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
