NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Babson College men's and women's track and field teams had three athletes compete on the final day of the NEICAAA Championships at Southern Connecticut State University, highlighted by senior Angelina Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) earning All-New England honors in the 100-meter dash.
Raffone, who entered the 100-meter dash final seeded eighth after Friday's preliminary round, recorded a season-best 12.24 to place seventh and become the first athlete in program history to earn individual All-New England honors at the NEICAAA Championships. The field included athletes from all three NCAA divisions as Stonehill senior Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vt.) crossed the finish line in 11.88 to take home the gold.
On the men's side, the duo of junior Samir Arora (Freemont, Calif.) and first-year Colin Cianciolo (East Greenwich, R.I.) ended their seasons running 2:01.09 and 2:02.14, respectively, in section one of the 800-meter run.
The Beavers return to action on Monday evening as senior Matthew Dynan (Reading, Mass.) is set to compete in the 1500-meter run at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.
