BABSON PARK, Mass.—Fresh off capturing the program's first NCAA Tournament regional championship in program history, the Babson College women's volleyball program found out that is seeded fifth and will take on the fourth-seeded University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a national quarterfinal match on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Beavers (26-8), who are making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015, defeated 23rd-ranked Bowdoin College in the Babson Park Regional final on Sunday afternoon inside Staake Gymnasium. The 14th-ranked Blugolds (32-3), who are also make their first trip to the national quarterfinals, defeated the College of Saint Benedict in four sets in the Saint Peter (Minn.,) Regional final to punch their ticket to Pittsburgh.
The winner of Thursday's match will take on either top-ranked Calvin College (31-1) or Aurora University (26-8) in a national semifinal on Friday. The quarterfinals in the other side of the bracket feature second-seeded Juniata (27-3) against seventh-seeded Wesleyan University (20-5), and third-seeded Emory University (27-6) against sixth-seeded Ithaca College (21-7).
The semifinals are set for 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the national championship match will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. All matches will be played inside the AJ Palumbo Center on the campus of Duquesne University.
