WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Elizabeth Cameron (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Cameron was the driving force behind a 4-0 week for the 22nd-ranked Beavers averaging 10.87 assists, 3.07 digs, 0.93 kills and 0.60 blocks. She dished out 34 assists and recorded 14 digs in Tuesday's four-set victory at Wheaton, and then put together three monster performances on the way to earning New England Challenge MVP honors as Babson won the event for the first time.
Cameron had 31 assists and nine digs in a 3-0 victory over Williams, contributed 55 assists, 11 digs and three aces in a five-set win over previously unbeaten and 13th-ranked Tufts, and doled out 43 assists to go along with 12 digs, three blocks and three kills in a 3-0 triumph over Middlebury.
Cameron, who is now just 45 assists away from matching the program's all-time record of 3,631 held by Kathleen Lynch '13, is averaging 9.70 assists, 2.21 digs, 1.04 kills and 0.49 blocks per set on the year. She currently ranks third in the NEWMAC in assists and has helped the Green and White to the fifth best hitting percentage (.265) in Division III.
Babson (23-1, 6-1 NEWMAC) returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Springfield at 7 p.m.
