Miller, Malee Sweep NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards

WESTWOOD, Mass.—After capturing a share of its first regular season conference title since 2014, the Babson College women's volleyball team swept the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly awards on Monday afternoon.

Junior Gaby Miller (Miami, Fla.) was named offensive player of the week, while sophomore Maddie Malee (Orlando, Fla.) was selected as the league's defensive player of the week.

Miller averaged 2.38 kills and hit .414 in four wins, but was at her best in the Beavers' two league matches averaging 3.00 kills per set while hitting at a .465 clip. She recorded a season-high 16 kills to go along with two service aces as the Green and White rallied for a five-set win over Wellesley on Tuesday, and then put away eight kills in 14 attempts to help the team secure the top seed in this week's conference tournament for the first time in program history with a 3-0 triumph over Mount Holyoke.

Malee totaled 53 digs and averaged 3.79 digs per set in Babson's four wins. She totaled 14 digs in a five-set victory over Wellesley on Tuesday, matched her career high with 21 digs in a three-set sweep of Hunter on Friday, and wrapped up the week with 18 total digs in consecutive 3-0 wins over Mount Holyoke and Sage as the Beavers extended their winning streak to 19 matches.

Babson (30-1, 9-1 NEMWAC), which has already set a new record for victories in a season, will host either Wheaton or Coast Guard in a conference tournament semifinal match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
