NEW ORLEANS—The Babson College women's cross country team was honored for its work in the classroom as it received All-Academic Team honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday afternoon.
Under the direction of head coach Russ Brennen, the Beavers garnered their 11th consecutive All-Academic Team award and were one of 221 Division III women's teams to receive recognition from the USTFCCCA. Six student-athletes finished the semester with a grade-point average of 3.40 or higher, and the team posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA this past fall.
In order to qualify for program honors, teams must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher and have competed in at least five different meets during the season.
Babson came in eighth at the 2017 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship and finished 23rd at the NCAA regional meet.
