WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College sophomore Amanda Karch (Sandwich, Mass.) was recognized for her success in the classroom when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its women's cross country Academic All-Conference squad on Wednesday morning.
Karch has competed in all four of the Beavers' races this fall and has recorded the top times of her career in both the 5k and the 6k over the last two meets. She finished the Keene State Invitational 5k with a time of 20:55 on October 5, which was followed by posting a time of 26:37 in the 6k at the Western New England Invitational on October 19.
In order to be eligible for NEWMAC Academic All-Conference consideration, honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Babson returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Boston's Franklin Park to compete in the NEWMAC Championship meet beginning at 12 p.m.
