Meet Preview: Swimming & Diving vs. Norwich/Regis

• The Babson men's & women's swimming teams are set for a busy weekend of competition beginning on Saturday. The Beavers travel north to face Regis and Norwich in a double dual meet before the men's squad returns to Morse Pool for its home opener against Springfield on Sunday afternoon.

vs. Norwich
• The Babson men have won 13 of their last 17 meets against the Cadets, while the women's team has been victorious in 19 of their last 20 matchups.

vs. Regis
• The Beavers and Pride will meet for just the fourth time since 2008 on Saturday. The men have won each of their three meets against Regis, while the Babson women defeated Regis for the first time over the last decade last season.

• The Beavers combined to win 18 of 26 events as the men beat Norwich 151-77 and Regis 153-38, while the women downed Norwich 146-66 and edged the Pride 123-108.
• Sophomore Abigail Voce (50 free, 100 free) and Tesssa Amoroso (1M diving, 3M diving) were two of three women to win multiple events for the Green and White.
• Six different swimmers recorded an individual victory for the Babson men, highlighted by sophomore Aaron Huynh's wins in the 1000 free and 100 butterfly.

• The Babson women (4-1) defeated Brandeis (160-90), Simmons (166-123) and Smith (174-119) while falling to WPI (183-110) last Friday night in Worcester.
• First-year Caitlin Caron set a new school record in the 1000 free, classmate Molly Cox won a pair of individual events (50 back, 100 back) and Voce and senior Tirza Rentovich finished first in the 100 free and 50 free, respectively, for the Beavers.
• The Babson men (3-0) stayed unbeaten with a sweep of WPI (154-117) and Brandeis (142.50-119.50) last Friday night.
• The Green and White won 11 events, highlighted by senior Alex Damiecki (50 butterfly, 100 butterfly) and first-year Alvin Oentoro (500 free, 1000 free) recording two first-place finishes apiece, and rookie Charles Wang setting a program record in the 100 backstroke.

• The Norwich women (1-3) are coming off a 145-140 loss to Potsdam last Saturday.
• Sophomore Megan Duffy won the 200 butterfly and 500 free, while first-years Nikky Ansley (200 free) and Tess Whalen (1000 free) both collected an individual event victory for the Cadets.
• The Norwich men (3-1) have won three consecutive dual meets after easing past Potsdam 181-112 last Saturday.
• Senior Alex DiGiacomo (50 free, 100 butterfly) and junior Joseph Clark (100 back, 200 back) won two events apiece as the Cadets touched the wall first in 10 races overall.

• The Regis women (4-0) stayed unbeaten with a 124-54 win at Gordon last Saturday.
• Kyleigh Boatwright was the lone double winner with victories in the 100 butterfly and 100 back for the Pride, which saw eight different competitors record a first-place finish.
• The Regis men (1-1) suffered a 183-91 loss to Bridgewater State in their last action back on October 26.
• GianCarlos Banrey won three events (50 back, 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly), Robert Wood touched the wall first in the 200 free, and Grant Kollien posted a victory in the 1000 free for the Pride.

• Following last Friday's success at WPI, the Babson swimming & diving teams had eight athletes recognized by the NEWMAC on Monday.
• Wang was tabbed as the men's swimmer of the week and joined Damiecki, Huynh and junior Lachlan Dibbayawan on the men's relay team of the week for their victory in the 400 medley relay.
• On the women's side, Cox, Voce, sophomore Elizabeth Demoine and first-year Lindsay Nowak were chosen as the league's relay team of the week for their win the 400 medley event.

• The Green and White is set to host Clark next Saturday at 2 p.m. inside Morse Pool.
