Men's Tennis Too Much for Clark in 9-0 Sweep

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College stayed perfect at home on the year with a 9-0 win over Clark University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon at the Babson Tennis Complex.

With its third straight victory, Babson improves to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in league play, while Clark slips to 8-10 overall and 1-3 in the NEWMAC with its third loss in its last four matches.

The Beavers dominated in doubles highlighted by an 8-0 win at number three by sophomore Andre Libnic (Coral Gables, Fla.) and first-year Rafael Premisleaner (Ojai, Calif.). Junior Dylan Pace (Atherton, Calif.) and first-year Tyler Zhang (Northborough, Mass.) posted an 8-4 result at number two, while senior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and sophomore Chris Kolesnik (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded an 8-6 victory at number one.

Libnic was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at number one singles, Rosenbluth came through with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at number two, and first-year Ron Brody (Springfield, N.J.) eased to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number three. Zhang won 6-1, 6-2 at number four and Premisleaner registered his second point of the match with a 6-2, 6-2 result at number five.

The lone three-set match in singles came at number six where Pace rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 win over Clark's Nathan Kapiloff.

Babson returns to action on Monday when it hosts Franklin Pierce at 3:15 p.m., while Clark travels to Wheaton on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

• The Beavers are 30-2 all-time against Clark and have won nine straight matches in the series.
• Babson is 8-0 this season and has won its last nine home matches going back to last spring.
• The Beavers have now won at least 10 matches in seven consecutive seasons going back to 2013.
