After three years as the head coach of the Babson College men's and women's alpine ski teams, John DeWit '04 begins his second stint as an assistant coach prior to the 2015-16 campaign. deWit, who led the program from 2012-14, previously served as an assistant for the Beavers from 2008-11.

In his three seasons at the helm, deWit guided the men's program to three straight trips to both the regional and national championships, including the Beavers' first East Regional Championship and a finish of third at the USCSA Nationals in 2013 - the team's best finish ever, and a second consecutive regional title in 2014. Additionally, he helped Kristen Sweeney '17 become the program's first female to qualify for the USCAA National Championship since 1998 this past winter.

A four-year member of the Babson ski team as an undergraduate, deWit helped guide the Beavers to back-to-back trips to the ECSC Regional Championships in his final two seasons, as well as a third place finish in the MacConnell Division in his senior campaign - the team's highest conference result in the last 18 years.

DeWit returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach under Joe Harty in 2007-08, and then has served two years under head coach Clayton Reed from 2008 to 2010 and another season under Harty in 2010-11. In his four years as an assistant, Babson finished in the top five at regionals each season - including what was then a program-best second place effort in 2009 - and made four straight trips to the USCSA National Championships for the first time in team history.
